Con el reciente lanzamiento de las nuevas monedas de 20 pesos en celebración de los 500 años de la fundación de la ciudad y puerto de Veracruz, te contamos cuáles son las monedas mexicanas más preciadas y valuadas.
Centenario de oro
Se trata de una moneda de 50 pesos que conmemoró el primer centenario de la Independencia de México. El reverso de la moneda muestra la Victoria Alada que también se encuentra en la punta del Ángel de la Independencia y en el fondo figuran el Iztaccíhuatl y el Popocatépetl, mientras que en su anverso está un escudo nacional utilizado en el pasado. Estos 50 pesos oro tienen un peso de 1.2 onzas de oro (troy). Su última producción ocurrió en 1972, por lo que las monedas existentes son limitadas y año con año su valor incrementa, en particular si está en buen estado, por lo cual de acuerdo con los datos del 2019, esta moneda puede valer hasta 37 mil 467 pesos.
Moneda de Carlos y Juana de la primera serie, 3 reales en plata
Las monedas de Carlos y Juana se acuñaron en 1536 y llevan tal nombre debido a la leyenda “Carolvus et iohana reges hispaniarvm et indiarvm” (Carlos y Juana reyes de España e Indias), además tienen la peculiaridad de ser las primeras que se acuñaron en América y se realizaron en plata. La foto muestra los 3 reales, aunque se produjeron cuatro, dos, uno medio real y cuarto de real. Su último año de circulación fue 1572, cuando las retiraron tras el fin del reinado de Felipe II.
Columnario o de mundos y mares, 8 reales en plata
Durante 1732, aún en el reinado de Felipe V, cambió el proceso de fabricación de monedas en México, lo que convirtió que estos reales que ahora son conocidos como Columnarios fueran usadas fuera de México.
Los 8 escudos de México “Cara de rata”
Se trata de una serie de monedas que Tomás Francisco Prieto diseñó y que fueron acuñadas entre 1762 y 1772. En total se crearon 7 cecas —es decir, lugares donde fabricaban las monedas— México, Lima, Santa Fe de Nuevo reino, Santiago de Chile, Guatemala, Madrid y Sevilla , de acuerdo con la información de Ruiz Calleja, que tienen la peculiaridad de llevar en el busto de toisón de Carlos III y que pueden ser muy costosas tanto de conseguir como vender, a pesar de que en el caso de México son un tanto más comunes. De acuerdo a su rareza, año y estado algunas de estas monedas han alcanzado precios de 60 mil pesos o más.
Moneda del primer imperio, 8 escudos en oro
Estas son las primeras monedas una vez Agustín de Iturbide se convirtió en emperador mexicano y México se convirtió brevemente en una monarquía constitucional. En el anverso es posible ver el busto de Iturbide con la leyenda de “Agustinus dei providentia” (Agustín por la providencia de Dios). Además de los 8 escudos, también hubo monedas en otro de cuatro escudos, así como reales de plata de ocho cuatro, dos y uno.
Moneda revolucionaria del Estado Libre y Soberano de Oaxaca de 60 pesos
Al tratarse de una moneda de oro, su valor dependerá del mercado de este metal precioso, sin embargo, la historia de la moneda se remonta a 1915 cuando el Estado de Oaxaca asumió su soberanía por lo que acuñaron su propia moneda. En el anverso se encuentra a Benito Juárez con la leyenda de Estado L. y S. de Oaxaca y una guirnalda, mientras que en el reverso aparece una figura de la Ley. De acuerdo con Banxico, además de la moneda de 60 pesos también se acuñaron otras de uno, dos, cinco, diez, veinte pesos y uno, tres, cinco, diez, veinte y cincuenta centavos variando entre el uso de metales como oro plata y cobre. En este caso, algunos sitúan el valor de la moneda de 60 pesos en oro hasta en 28 mil dólares, es decir cerca de 690 mil pesos según el tipo de cambio.
Moneda villista “Muera Huerta” de un 1 peso
Se trata de otra moneda propia de la revolución mexicana. Esta fue acuñada por Francisco Villa como una forma de solventar los gastos de la batalla, en su reverso está el llamado resplandor republicano con la leyenda de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, mientras que en su anverso una versión del escudo nacional con una leyenda que hoy le da nombre a la moneda: “Muera Huerta” refiriendo por supuesto a Victoriano Huerta. Su precio suele comenzar hasta en 1500 dólares, es decir cerca de 37 mil pesos.
Sin duda debes tener en mente que el valor económico fluctúa de acuerdo a los materiales que componen cada moneda, su estado de conservación, así como cualquier tipo de defecto que pueda tener que podría sumar o restarle valor. No obstante, más allá de su valor monetario, estas monedas, así como el resto de la colección numismática de México da cuenta del proceso histórico en el país, el paso de monarcas, gobernantes, y de la producción misma de billetes y monedas. De hecho, México ha desarrollado tal nivel que en la actualidad maquila papel moneda para otros países de Latinoamérica y es reconocido por contar con los billetes más seguros.
